  • HEC-RPT, the HEC Regime Prescription Tool is designed to facilitate entry, viewing, and documentation of flow recommendations in real-time, public settings. HEC-RPT is primarily a visualization tool and is not intended to perform the detailed quantitative analyses (e.g., statistical analyses or reservoir and river routing) already performed by other software packages. Instead, HEC-RPT seeks to complement other software by making it easier to create flow time series that other software packages can import and use in their analyses.

  • HCALC is a hydraulic calculator for circular, full pipe, incompressible flow. You can solve for head loss, diameter, flow, pipe area, velocity, Reynolds number and friction factor using the Darcy-Weisbach, Hazen-Williams or Manning's equations. You can also convert values between various common units of these parameters.

  • DCUH Unit Hydrograph Program for the estimation of a unit graph from rainfall and discharge data. The method uses Snyder's Least Squares algorithm coupled with the author's modified smoothing method. The program assumes you have a basic understanding of unit hydrographs.

  • DESERT version 1.0 was designed for decision support in water quality management on a river basin scale. The software incorporates a number of useful tools, including easy-to-use data handling module with a dBase style database engine, simulation and calibration of hydraulics and water quality, display of computed data with the help of external spreadsheet software, and optimization based on dynamic programming algorithm. The main utility of the package is in providing a useful and powerful instrument for water quality assessment and decision making in emission control, including selection of wastewater treatment alternatives, standard setting and enforcement. It was designed at the International Institute for Applied System Analysis, Laxenburg, Austria, in cooperation with the Institute for Water and Environmental Problems, Barnaul, Russia to be flexible and easy-to-use in an integrated Windows PC-based environment.

  • FREQ is a graphics based LP3 flood frequency estimation program. Estimation is done by least squares. Features of the program are calculation of unbiased frequency factors and confidence limits for estimates. The program allows the user to alter the value of skew and/or peaks to years ratio. The effects of any changes can be monitored graphically.

  • HEC-DSS MS Excel Data Exchange Add-In is a Visual Basic application for retrieving and storing both regular-interval time series and paired data directly from Excel to an HEC-DSS database file. Data sets to retrieve are selected from a catalog listing directly available from MS Excel. For time series data, an optional time window can be specified to select portions of a DSS record or to span several records. The exchange of irregular-interval time series data has not been implemented at this time.
Installation of this Application consists of copying files to the MS Excel program area, then loading the Application as an Add-In from the Excel Tools Menu (Refer to installation instructions in documentation). Once loaded, a DSS tool bar is displayed in the Excel toolbar area for access to the DSS import and export functions.

  • H&H Utility Suite is a collection of eight hydrology and hydraulics utilities, which are different from, and a complement to, the Hydraulics Utility Programs listed below. They consist of the following independent programs, zipped together into one self-extracting file.
    • Weirflo - broadcrested, cipolletti, triangular and shallow swale weir flows.
    • SCSCN - storm runoff hydrograph model based upon the SCS Curve Number method and NEH4.
    • Routec - reservoir routing using the Puls method.
    • Pearson - fits a series of flow events to a Log Pearson Type III distribution.
    • Meltsum - computes snow melt from a degree-day model.
    • Gully - A program to compute gully control structure design parameters.
    • Deschan - Storm channel design program for trapezoidal channels.
    • Cross2 - rating curve estimates from channel cross section surveys.

  • Hydraulics Utility Programs are six programs packaged together, in a single self-extracting zip file. They each run indepedently, but they all require a copy of BRUN20.EXE (also included in the package) to be in either the same directory or your computers path statement.
    • Weirs - This program calculates flow (cfs) or weir length (ft) from the weir flow equation.
    • Orifices - This program solves for Q (cfs), A (sq.ft) or HW (ft) based on tailwater and orifice centerline elevations.
    • Trap. Channels - Solves Mannings equation for flow in trapezoidal, box or triangular channels.
    • Natural Channels - Solves Mannings equation for flow in natural channels given x-y coordinates of the cross section.
    • Culverts - Enter the culvert characteristics and get a Headwater vs. Outflow rating curve indicating Inlet or Outlet Control.
    • Reservoirs - Will perform reservoir routing for ten time increments, given the inflow hydrograph and reservoir storage characteristics.

  • HEC-1Time will take a cumulative rainfall total (in inches or centimeters) and distribute it incrementally over a set storm time period. It will distribute rainfall over SCS Type I, II, or III storm patterns or a user specified pattern. The output is a HEC-1 input-ready table of incremental rainfall depths.

  • Inlet on Grade is an Excel application which calculates the flow capacity of street sections and catch basins on continuous grade using the Modified Manning's Equation in accordance with HEC-12. It solves for depth/flow rate values given 14 variables which characterize composite street section and inlet geometries in English units. The results are calculated utilizing the spreadsheet and Excel Visual Basic macros and are displayed graphically alongside the input utilizing Excel Form tools. To protect the integrity of the computations, the application has been protected from changes. Output is documented by printing the form.

  • LoggerDB is a database program designed specifically for storing and summarizing data from environmental data loggers. Typically, these data loggers collect information such as stream flow, water depth, precipitation or various water/air quality parameters at a periodic time interval. LoggerDB is a stand-alone database program that saves files in the Microsoft Access format (users will not need Access to run LoggerDB).

  • National Streamflow Statistics (NSS) Program estimates streamflow statistics at ungaged sites where no observed flood data are available for a variety of water-resources and emergency planning, management, and regulatory purposes, and for design of structures such as bridges and culverts. NSS provides simple methods of estimating streamflow statistics, utilizing U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) published regression equations for estimating the magnitude and frequency of floods for every State, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico, and a number of metropolitan areas in the United States. This program is extremely easy to use, and estimates Floodflow Frequency Curves for 2- to 500-year frequencies, as well as Hydrograph Plots, for any ungaged watershed within the United States.
